Dear Scotland Family & friends, it is with sadness that I share the news that Steven “Steve” Myers ’71 passed away on December 2, 2025, due to complications from ALS (Lou-Gehrig’s disease).
Steve, known as Poncho to his classmates, was in the Print Shop. He was on the football, wrestling, and baseball teams. Along with Steve his brothers Dwight ’68 and Greg ’70 (deceased 4-7/21) attended SSVC.

Obituary
Steven Earl Myers, 71, of Martinsburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center – Johnstown. He was born on January 23, 1954 in Roaring Spring, son of the late Raymond Dick and Helen Romaine (McKinney) Myers. On July 8, 1994 in Winchester, Virginia, he was united in marriage to Anna May Harvey-Myers, who survives.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Raymond D. Myers and Gregory L. Myers. Surviving are wife, Anna May Harvey-Myers; brothers, Dwight E. Myers and Barry L. Myers (wife, Lisa); sister-in-law, Cheryl Myers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Steven was an avid reader, enjoyed genealogy and music, and loved to talk religion and politics. He was a collector of many things: clocks, time-pieces, stamps, and records to name a few. Steven was a huge fan of Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football, Minnesota Vikings Football, and New York Yankees Baseball. He was involved with karate and tai chi. Steven was a member of the Woodbury Masonic Lodge No. 539 and was past High Priest (2004, 2009, and 2010) of Mount Moriah Royal Arch Chapter No. 166.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 10:00AM until the 11:00AM Funeral Service at St. John’s United Church of Christ – Martinsburg; Pastor Bonnie Skelley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Steven’s name may be made to the ALS Association ( www.als.org ).
