SSVC Taps: Corindo DeLaurentis ’54 passed away 1-21-26

Dear Scotland Family & Friends, It is with sadness that I share the news that our dear SSVC brother Corindo “Cory” DeLaurentis ’54 passed away 1/21/26.  He turned 90 on 8/7. 
 
 
While at SSVC Corindo was in the Bake Shop.  He was on the Soccer and Track teams along with the Drill team and Rifle Club.  He sang in the Chorus.   Cory along with his brothers Anthony ’47 & Joseph ’50 attended SSVC.  Anthony left SSVC in October 1946, Joseph in April 1948.  Anthony is deceased.  Joseph lives in Spring City, but I don’t have an address for him.

Corindo J. “Cory” DeLaurentis, 89, of Summit Hill, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Bethlehem. Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Corindo and Mary (Rhodunda) DeLaurentis.  He was a graduate of the Scotland School for Veteran Children.  He worked for Mack Trucks in Macungie for many years. Cory served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1955-1959.  He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill.  Cory was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion Post 316 and the St. Gabriel’s Italian Club in Summit Hill.
 
Surviving are his Brothers, William DeLaurentis and his wife Linda of Summit Hill and Joseph DeLaurentis and his wife Dolores of Spring City; Sisters, Marie Black of Allentown and Salina Horavich of Mountaintop; Several Nieces and Nephews.  He was preceded in death by a Brother, Anthony DeLaurentis and Sister, Angeline Petrash. 
 
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026 at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Summit Hill.  Calling Hours are on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.  Contributions, in his memory, may be made to the church. Funeral Arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill, PA.  Online Condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com.  (Thomas J.
