SSVC Taps: Florence Gryziec Kluchinki ’49

It is with sadness that I share the news that Florence Gryziec Kluchinski ’49 passed away on February 23, 2026.  Her obituary follows.
 
 
Florence was in Business Education (Commercial).  She sang in the Chorus and was on the Courier Staff.  She was a cheerleader and played on the hockey and basketball teams.  She was a Christian Endeavor member.
 

Flo along with her sister Eleanor Gryziec Miscavage ’48 and brother Edward ’45 attended SSVC.   They celebrated their 95th birthday on June 2, 2025.

Obituary

 

 

 
Florence was born in Plymouth, PA on June 2, 1930, to the late Peter and Monica (Kisko) Gryziec. She grew up in Pennsylvania before settling in NJ in 1957. Prior to her retirement, she spent many years working as an administrative assistant, where she was known for her reliability and organization.
 
Outside of her professional life, Florence found great joy in crafting and painting. Whether creating handmade gifts, working on detailed projects, or expressing herself through art, she poured patience and care into everything she made.
 
Above all, Florence cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in time spent with children, grandchildren, and loved ones.
 
The beloved wife of 68 years to Joseph Kluchinski, Florence is also survived by her sons, David Kluchinski (Dawn) and Don Kluchinski (Carol), her grandchildren, Allison Woinicki (Hunter), Rachel, Jack, Joseph, Dana (Daniel Forrest), Catherine; her sisters, Mary Madrack and Eleanor Miscavage and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Kluchinski. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel (Walter Bradhering) and brothers Andy, John, Michael, Edward and sisters Helen and Anne.
 
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10th at 11 AM at All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St, Plymouth, PA. Visitation will take place at the church before the Mass from 10 AM – 11 AM.
 

A repast will be held following the Mass at Leggio’s Restaurant, 1092 PA-315, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
