SSVC Taps: Mr. Edwin Harr passed away 8/9/26

Dear Scotland Family & Friends, It is with sadness that I share the news that Mr. Edwin Harr (86) passed away Sunday August 9, 2026.  Mr. Harr’s obituary follows.
 
 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 25, 20 10:00am at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg, PA. Following the service a celebration of life luncheon will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church Parish Center in Chambersburg, PA.  To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

 
Mr. Harr was a boy’s line supervisor.

Obituary
 

Edwin Eugene Harr, a resident of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on August 9, 2026.

Born December 20, 1939, Ed was the son of the late Kenneth and Rosetta Harr. Upon their death he was adopted by Jesse and Lillian Harr McGarvey.

Ed graduated from Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union, PA. After graduation, he served four years in the United States Marine Corps, graduated from Hagerstown Junior College, and attended Shippensburg University. He retired in 1991 from Scotland School for Veterans Children with 26 years of service. He also worked for many years at Penn National Golf Course.

Ed and Nancy (Fazenbaker) met in high school and were married in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Mt. Union, PA on August 17, 1963.

Surviving are his wife Nancy, two daughters Melissa Harr of Chesterfield, VA, Valerie Harr of Trenton, NJ, and two grandsons Zachary and Ziggy Mlodzinski. Also, surviving is his niece Heidi Cuick and nephew Rudy Vorndran, Jr. Ed was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Vorndran.
